As the lifts slow and the final turns of the season settle into soft spring snow, we look back on Winter 2024/25 with full hearts and tired legs. From first tracks to final après, this season was one for the books—etched in snow, stories, and the kind of Western spirit that only lives here in Steamboat Springs.

We were blessed with 303 inches of Champagne Powder® snow—light, dry, and unmistakably Steamboat. It coated the valley, blanketed the pines, and made every run, from Greenhorn Ranch to Mahogany Ridge, feel like a dream. Skiers and riders, new and seasoned, carved lines and memories all winter long, each one shaped by the joy of being on the mountain and the pride of being part of something timeless.

One of the season’s biggest highlights? The 50th Anniversary of Cowboy Downhill—a legendary celebration of Steamboat’s roots, where cowboys and cowgirls traded saddles for skis. With boots in bindings and hats held high, they raced down the mountain in true Western style. It was fast, funny, and full of heart—a perfect reminder of what sets our ski town apart. Here, tradition doesn’t just live on—it rides downhill.

From the young first-timers at Greenhorn Ranch to seasoned skiers chasing steeps, this season brought us all together on the snow. We shared lift rides with strangers who became friends, and leaned into every turn with the kind of joy that can only come from time spent outside, on purpose.

And while we’ll miss the powder days and chairlift laughs, the good life doesn’t end when the snow melts. Around here, summer is just another season of adventure. Wildflower hikes, scenic gondola rides, downhill biking, and sunset dining are just around the bend. The mountains stay open, the views get greener, and the Western hospitality never skips a beat.

So as you brush the last snow off your boots and store your skis for the season, don’t say goodbye—just say until we see you again. Because in Steamboat, we live each season like it’s our favorite. And we can’t wait to welcome you back for more Happy Trails®.

Thanks for riding with us. Thanks for being part of this place.
Here’s to the winter that was—and the coming summer.

That’s the Steamboat Way.
