Steamboat is committed to supporting our local community and furthering education. In 1994, Steamboat Ski & Resort Corporation established an educational scholarship program which over the years has distributed over half a million dollars to over 700 students in Routt County. Each year, the applicants are considered based on their display of exemplary character, community spirit, and academic achievement. In 2023, we’re proud to have given $50,000 to students across the county including one from Hayden, two from South Routt, and 23 Steamboat Springs High School students. In addition to a scholarship available to graduating Routt County seniors, the Resort has also established a DEI scholarship for Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC) to pursue higher education in ski/snowboard industry classes at Colorado Mountain College. Recipients can apply for a renewal scholarship for up to four years while they are in school. Applications for both scholarships can be found on the Yampa Valley Community Foundation website.
