Gather your favorite people and head to Steamboat Square this summer for live music and an entertaining cinematic experience under the star-studded mountain sky. A Steamboat summertime staple and locally loved tradition, the free Coca-Cola Movies on the Mountain series takes place every Saturday night at sunset and invites guests to relax on lawn chairs and blankets, take in nature’s beauty, and settle in for a night of movies and community. Begin your evening with an early start with Music on the Mountain. Live music starts on the Steamboat Stage at 5pm. Listen to the music while playing lawn games on Skeeter’s Rink, and grab beverages and dinner at The Range prior to the movie’s start.

Steamboat Marketing Events and Partnership Coordinator Keriann Beadnell shares insider tips for making the most of this family-friendly Steamboat summer activity:

What’s the best place to park?

There is free parking at the Knoll Lot, which is right across the street from the resort. There is also a paid parking option in the Steamboat Square Lot.

What should I bring?

Bring your own lawn chair or blanket to make yourself comfortable during the movie. Bring the kids, but please leave the pets at home. Pack jackets for cooler evening temps (it gets chilly when the sun goes down) and sleeping bags for the kids to create a fun campout vibe.

What’s available for food and drink?

There are a variety of food options to choose from in Steamboat Square. Arrive early and grab dinner and a drink from the new Range Food Hall. You may purchase a cocktail from one of these outlets and enjoy it during the movie. Outside alcohol is prohibited. There are also movie concessions available until 9 p.m. Snack on boxed candy, popcorn and Coca-Cola products from the convenient outdoor concessions stand.

When should I arrive?

Movies start right after sunset each Saturday. Come early and enjoy Music on the Mountain, with live music playing on the Steamboat Stage starting at 5pm. At 7pm try your luck to win Coca-Cola-themed prizes and enjoy lawn games on Skeeter’s Park
