Springtime Live Music at Steamboat
There aren’t many places that match the vibe of springtime in Steamboat. Ask a local or die-hard Steamboat skier, and they’ll tell you that if it isn’t a day of deep Champagne Powder® snow, the best ski days of the year are highlighted by sunny and warm skies, soft snow, and excellent vibes. With vivid blue skies and warmer temps making regular appearances throughout the spring, the snow is soft, and the stoke level is always high. To add even more fun and excitement, we have a wide variety of awesome indoor and outdoor live music performances through the end of the season. It’s easy to lose track of all the fun and excitement in Steamboat this time of year, so we’ve put together this guide, so you don’t miss any of the action.

The month of March kicks off 7 weeks of pure fun, headlined by our Bud Light Rocks the ‘Boat free concert series every Saturday afternoon through April 13. A perfect outing for families, friends, and everyone in between, with a wide range of musical acts featuring a myriad of different genres, there’s nowhere else you’ll want to be to end your Saturdays this spring. Come to Steamboat and ski to your heart’s desire, and when you’re satisfied, simply egress to the base area and set up shop! Steamboat stage has a large area available for when a lot of people are keen on catching some live music or if you’re looking to try out some new dance moves. It’s also surrounded by local establishments such as Timber and Torch and the Range Food and Drink Hall, so you can enjoy live entertainment from these classic spots as well.

Whether you’re a bell-to-bell skier looking for a concert to end your day or an après lover who is always looking to get in on the fun, look no further than the Range Food and Drink Hall. As one of the centerpieces of the Steamboat base area, the Range has seating on the first and second floors, bars on each floor, and additional seating outside on both levels. On Fridays and Saturdays, the Range features a DJ on the upper deck from 3:30-7:30 pm, and also hosts live music on Sunday and Monday evenings from 3:30-6 pm. Stop in for the entertainment and stick around for tasty dishes and cold (or warm) drinks from the bar. In the past two seasons, the DJ performances have resulted in Steamboat’s version of a true European après celebration and have taken the base area by storm. You’ll definitely want to check out one of these experiences.

Our on-mountain music activations have been taken to new heights this spring, and for the first time, the 4 Points Lodge will be hosting a live DJ and après party every Sunday from 1-3 pm on the snow beach outside the lodge. This exciting new experience is being brought to our highest elevation lodge for the very first time and promises to be a blast. A pop-up bar, Adirondack and lawn chair seating, and picnic benches round out the venue and provide quintessential views of the Yampa Valley and neighboring Flattop Mountains. These views really put the cherry on top of your après. The inside lodge and deck area will continue to operate in their normal fashion, so whether you après with Bloody Mary’s, tasty craft cocktails, or one of 4 Point’s classic Pot Pies, this is sure to end your weekend on the right note.

Rounding out the group, and a familiar favorite for our locals and summer guests, Sunset Happy Hour has now made its way into the ski season and will continue to run through at least the end of March. With a wide variety of different bands set to play, head up the Steamboat Gondola from 5-8 pm on Thursdays and Sundays to enjoy the culinary delights, wine, beer, and cocktails. Bring the kids, your significant other, the in-laws and toast to the sunset overlooking the Yampa Valley. Everyone will love spending an evening at the Thunderhead Lodge where the sounds of local musicians intertwine with the sights on Steamboat.
