The summer season at Steamboat begins this weekend. This time of year, we want to give our guests access to the mountain, but it’s early season and not everything is fully ready to play. Make sure to check back on this blog weekly until Daily Operations begin June 13 to understand the most up to date status of operations.  

May 23- May 26 

Activities:  

• Steamboat Gondola open for scenic rides  

• Sunset Happy Hour on Sunday, May 25 

• Yard Games at Skeeter’s Park (the ice rink in the winter) 

Food & Drink:  

• Thunderhead Oasis Grill (at the top of the Gondola). The Bar is open 9:30am-3:30pm and food is available 10:30am-2:30pm. 

• The Range Food & Drink Hall: downstairs open from 11am to 6pm 

Shopping:  

• Giggle Gulch Candy Store 

• Thunderhead Shop (at top of Gondola) 

• Sheraton Steamboat Sports/ Bike Shop 

• The Steamboat Store 

The Steamboat Grand Hotel is open every day, all year long including the pool facilities, the Poolside Bistro, Grand Market, The Cabin and Grand Goods. 

What’s NOT Open yet? 

Biking and hiking, including both cross-country and the Steamboat Bike Park downhill trails. Depending on conditions, guests may be able to access US Forest Service Multi-Use trails, but as of today most bike and hike trails are not in usable condition.  

June 13 is the official kick off of daily operations and opening of the Steamboat Bike Park for the summer. That’s when we’ll start offering bike lessons, Thursday and Sunday Sunset Happy Hours, Timber & Torch Thursday through Monday, Hazie’s dinners on Friday and Saturday nights and weekly Sunday brunch at Hazie’s.
