The summer season at Steamboat has begun. This time of year, we want to give our guests access to the mountain, but it’s early season and not everything is fully ready to play. Make sure to check back on this blog weekly until Daily Operations begin June 13 to understand the most up to date status of operations.  

June 6 – 8

Activities:  

  • Yard Games at Skeeter’s Park (the ice rink in the winter) 

Trails:

  • Hiking Trails: Vista Nature Trail and Thunderhead all the way to the top of Gondola
  • Multi-Use Trails: Moonlight, Elkhead Loop, Pioneer Trail, Valley View, Zig Zag, Creekside, Duster Road, Short Cut Road, Yoo Hoo Road, Spur Run Road, Chisholm Trail and Storm Peak Challenge

Food & Drink:  

  • Thunderhead Oasis Grill (at the top of the Gondola). The Bar is open 9:30am-4pm and food is available 10:30am-2:30pm. 

Shopping:  

The Steamboat Grand Hotel is open every day, all year long including the pool facilities, the Poolside Bistro, Grand Market, The Cabin and Grand Goods

What’s NOT Open yet? 

Some biking and hiking, including both cross-country and the Steamboat Bike Park downhill trails. Guests are able to access some US Forest Service Multi-Use trails, but as of today the conditions of many bike and hike trails are not quite usable.  

June 13 is the official kick off of daily operations and opening of the Steamboat Bike Park for the summer. That’s when we’ll start offering bike lessons, Thursday and Sunday Sunset Happy Hours, Timber & Torch Thursday through Monday, Hazie’s dinners on Friday and Saturday nights and weekly Sunday brunch at Hazie’s.
