Operations Impacts for the week of August 8 – 15, 2025

See the following on-mountain projects taking place this week. There may be impacts, detours, and delays so make sure to utilize the app and Steamboat.com for the most up to date information.

• Lower Zig Zag remains closed through the end of summer.
• Expect heavy truck traffic on  Storm Peak & Why Not Road for the Priest Creek chairlift removal
• Gunsmoke trail will be closed during weekdays for trail maintenance work, but reopen on the weekends for downhill riding.
• On Monday, August 11 the US Forest Service will be replacing the communications building at Storm Peak Lab.  Expect delays and intermittent closures on Why Not Road, Storm Peak Challenge, and Chisholm trail as the new building is transported to the Storm Peak Labs location.
