The sun is out in full force today. Dress a little lighter and rub some sun-goop on before coming out.

Yesterday was a lot like today: sunny and spring-like conditions. Spring conditions means the snow will be slightly firm in the morning and softening as the sun warms things up. With this in mind, we went in search of soft snow on north-facing slopes.

Vagabond and Buddy’s Run were perfect groomers with soft cord to easily get an edge in. We took a quick run down Chute One and found great snow on skier’s right. We’re planning to ski Chute Two later today to compare snow conditions. Rainbow is a perfect run to ski in the sun, so we took that down to B.C. before making our way to the top of the gondi.

Soft snow down Chute One

The weather man is calling for snow tomorrow. I’ve heard anywhere between 5 and 10 inches. This will set the mountain up well for all of next week and the coming weekend.

Our free concert series starts today with Donavon Frankenreiter. Every Saturday through closing weekend will be another free concert at the base area. Check out the lineup of fun musicians.

Enjoy the sun today and the fresh snow tomorrow.
