Steamboat Summer Times

Summer in Steamboat has been cruising by with fun to be had on the mountain and all around town. With proper social distancing guidelines and practices in effect, there are still many activities on the mountain and around town to enjoy with your family and friends. The hiking trails are open across the mountain, gondola rides to Thunderhead offer drinks and food at the Oasis sundeck as well as activities upon the Thunderhead Lawn. Forest service trails are open for biking and the mini golf course at the base area is open to play.
In town, the Yampa River is flowing for tubing, swimming and you can enjoy biking alongside on the core trail through downtown. Many shops and restaurants are open offering full menus options, outdoor seating and to-go options.
There is a Colorado State-wide mask rule in effect for indoor public spaces. Colorado Gov. Jared Polis announced a statewide mask mandate on Thursday, July 16, to take effect at midnight that day. For detailed information, please visit the Coronavirus Information page on Steamboat’s website. If you are in need of a mask, you can purchase one at Steamboat Mercantile at the base area, as well as many other retail outlets around town.
