Steamboat Donates More Than $3K to Routt County Riders
Steamboat Bike Park kicked off the summer 2016 season June 9 with its annual Sponsorship Day benefit, raising $3,165 from bike lift ticket and rental proceeds. The money will be donated to local nonprofit Routt County Riders to fund trail maintenance projects in and around Steamboat Springs.
“Mother Nature cooperated this year by holding off the rain, and the annual start to bike season went off without a hitch,” said Jim Schneider, vice president of skier services for Steamboat Ski & Resort Corp. “We’re thankful to the community for coming out to ride the trails and support this worthy event.”
As part of the fundraiser, 100% of proceeds from specially priced $15 lift tickets and a portion of every bike rental fee are collected. Since the Bike Park opened in 2012, Steamboat has donated more than $20,000 to the local biking group.
