Ode to the Season
Only 3 days left (after today) before the lifts stop turning at Steamboat for the season! Better get out there and ski while you can!
This morning was fairly warm on the mountain, but you could feel the next storm rolling in by late morning with the wind picking up and temps dropping. Another decent storm is on tap for Steamboat the next couple of days. It’s going to be hard to beat the 13-inch dump that helped us conquer the Monday blues earlier this week, but the forecast is calling for 3 to 5 inches tonight and 4 to 9 inches tomorrow. I’m an optimist so I’m pulling for 20+ inches to close out the season!
As the end of the season gets closer every day, it’s truly bitter sweet. Half of me wants to whimper myself to sleep knowing I won’t be skiing again for another 7.349 months, and the other half is looking forward to mountain biking, fishing and all Steamboat has to offer in the summer.
For my final blog this winter, I thought I’d take a different approach and share some of my favorite photos I took from the 2017/18 ski season. Oh what a season it’s been.
