Steamboat, along with Alterra Mountain Company, is dedicated to creating a more diverse and inclusive winter sports community, starting with the kids and teens of Routt and Moffat counties. In partnership with SOS Outreach, a mentorship program was implemented during the 2022/2023 season where Steamboat was able to provide lift tickets, equipment rentals, and ski and snowboard lessons to 130 kids who would traditionally be denied access to the sport.

This unique partnership instills the love of the outdoors and teaches kids to overcome obstacles both on the mountain and in life. It is designed to provide a lasting invitation into the mountain lifestyle and gives them the opportunity to connect and create relationships with employees who have built their careers in this industry.
