Go for a Hike
It’s a beautiful day in the Boat, with warmer temperatures across the valley and on the mountain.
This morning, I was looking for an adventure and a little exercise, so I decided to go for a hike! In-bounds hiking is best accessed from the top of the Morningside lift. Exit the lift skier’s right and cruise down the ridge for a short 100-yard hike. From the top, you can ski back to Morningside lift on Wake Up Call, or my favorites North St. Pats, East Face and No Names take you back to Storm Peak lift.
The views along the short hike are breathtaking. Today is a crystal-clear day, and I could see past the Flat Tops all the way to the mountains surrounding Vail and Aspen.
At the top of the hike, you’ll see what most believe to be a cellphone and radio tower, but I think it’s a huge contraption they use to track all of my secret powder stashes.
There really isn’t a bad run accessed from the tower, with soft, powdery drops for everyone to prove their manhood. I’ll let the pictures speak for themselves on the three I skied today:
