Hello from an exceptional morning in Steamboat!  It’s no secret that conditions have been a mixed bag for a while now, but the fresh snow that came in this week made a HUGE difference on the mountain.  It was a complete ghost town on the mountain this morning, I think most people are waiting for the sun to hit the slopes before making turns. The first turns of the day couldn’t have been better – excellent snow quality and sunny sky made for one heck of a morning out there.

Most of the upper mountain groomers were very soft, carvable and just perfect!  The snow today says February, but the weather says April.  What a perfect combo to enjoy the last few days of the season.  The lower you get on the mountain the more firm the snow becomes, but the sun should warm everything up in no time to turn the whole mountain into a spring playground.

Perfect blue bird Colorado morning with comfortable temperatures, bright sun and nothing but smiles.  Its going to be a VERY nice day out there folks, don’t miss this opportunity!  You are going to need a ton of sunscreen and your sunny goggles for this one.

One of the best days we have had in the last two months.  So worth getting up early to enjoy the magic of Mt. Werner in the final days of the 2016-2017 season.  We relished every single turn today, it was simply awesome out there.  Still some fresh pow to be found out there, so get into those north facing trees to catch a few last soft turns.

Pick of the mountain today is Buddy’s Run: Soft snow, perfectly groomed corduroy, empty slopes, clear sky….. the works!

Have a great day on the mountain.
