Champagne in mid-March!
It was one of those mornings that I had to force myself to stop and take photos. I couldn’t believe how light and fluffy the snow was considering how warm it’s been lately. Soft, buttery champagne coated the whole mountain.
There is some dense fog in the upper parts of the mountain. It cleared near Thunderhead Lodge and below. Snow continued to fall around 9,000 feet and above. Rainbow and Closets seemed to have some of the deeper snow. Tree runs on all sides of the mountain were filled in pretty well.
Most of the mountains on the other side of the divide got dumped on this weekend. I believe today will be another sleeper day for Steamboat. 3″ of snow reported but it’s been snowing steadily since it was measured. Some runs were closer to 7″!
