Carnival Magic
If you called the 5 a.m. snow report, it didn’t mention fresh snow. Well, it started snowing, and it’s still coming down. The bigger surprise was how empty the slopes were. I just skied down Hurricane, Oops and then Vertigo with fresh lines the entire way down. Everyone in town must have a Winter Carnival hangover.
I found 4+ inches on Sideburn and just about that on Hurricane. The wind is blowing up top, so a neck gaiter or jacket with a hood will be helpful. It’s one of those days when every run will be better than the last because the snow keeps piling up.

If fresh snow isn’t reason enough to be here, there’s a free concert at the base. This is the first of our Bud Light Rocks the Boat free concert series. Concerts start at 3pm, so you can get in a full day of skiing and then enjoy a tasty beverage or two on the deck as you listen to good tunes.

The fun continues into the night with the 105th Winter Carnival Night Extravaganza. This is an event not to be missed. Think of it as a July 4th celebration in the middle of a ski off.
Heading back out to see how the snow is through Chute 2 and Flying Z.
