Amazing Weather, More Terrain
As our valley receives more and more layers of white and the snow guns continue to fill in the gaps that Mother Nature hasn’t covered yet, the open mountain terrain seems to continue expanding. Today I skied my way over to High Noon and down Two O’clock from there. High Noon was amazingly set up and stiff enough to create some excellent carving opportunities. Two O’clock is currently ungroomed which lends itself well to those looking to test their early season stamina.

Runs like Rainbow (both upper and lower sections) are a good choice today for those who want to let their skis or board run freely. The natural snow cover on these runs provides a remarkable base of packed powder that makes schussing like a world cup slalom racer a true possibility. Strapped with today’s latest ski technology, I found myself able to lean hard on my edges and let the equipment do the rest. After a few sharp turns in this manner, I’ll freely admit that my legs were ready for a little rest.
Riding up the Four Points chairlift I could see below that runs like Nelson’s Run and Twister were open for the taking. Although I didn’t get a chance to head that way myself, they looked like good options for those in search for more technical terrain. I will add that the snow in this area seems to have stacked up over the last week and there looked to be far less natural hazards to keep an eye on.

Generally speaking, conditions are great. As I made my way around different parts of the ski area, I couldn’t help but gaze into the distance and admire the rising sun above. Though the mountain temperatures started out on the chilly side, it’s shaping up to be a highly compelling day to hit the slopes.
So grab your sticks and get up here. I’ll be the one you see with an ear-to-ear smile!
Happy Sunday. Go Broncos.
