Celebrating Art, Community, and the Legacy of Dr. King at Steamboat Resort
For the third year, Steamboat Ski & Resort Corporation (SSRC) is a proud organizer of MLK Weekend in the ‘Boat, a community-wide celebration and recognition of the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.  As part of this celebration, we are honored to partner with acclaimed ski‑industry artist Lamont Joseph White, commissioning an exclusive series of original works that will debut during our MLK Weekend in the ‘Boat celebrations and appear throughout the season.

About the Artist: Lamont Joseph White
White’s artwork is widely recognized across the ski and snowboard world for its focus on representation, identity, and joy.

White shared, “It’s a true honor to share my paintings with the Steamboat Springs community. My hope is that this work invites us to share space with people beyond our usual circles and to grow and learn from one another.

Celebrate With Us: MLK Weekend in the ‘Boat
All are invited as we unveil Lamont’s artwork, honor the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., and celebrate together in a spirit of connection, joy, and belonging.

Part of the MLK Weekend in the ‘Boat initiatives also included a fundraiser for the National Brotherhood of Skiers (NBS). Ikon Base Pass and Session Pass holders have the opportunity to unlock their passes during the January 17-18 blocked out dates by making a $100 or more donation to NBS. Since 2024, $85,500 has been raised for NBS through this program. Unlock your pass here.
