STEAMBOAT SPRINGS, CO- October 9, 2024—Steamboat Ski and Resort Corporation (SSRC) will auction a select number of trail signs and eight chairs from the retired Priest Creek chairlift to the public in an online auction.

The one-of-a-kind, powder-coated aluminum trail signs were replaced as part of a resort-wide sign project in the summer of 2018 to improve visibility and route finding. The Priest Creek chairs were removed from the dormant lift in 2022.

This is a great opportunity to put a claim on the sign of your favorite trail you always ski right past. Whether you’re bread and butter consists of soft and smooth groomers, or you love skiing through the trees in our deep Champagne Powder® snow, we’re sure you’ll be able to find a trail sign that calls your name.

Funds raised will be allocated to the SSRC Charitable Fund, a Donor Advised Fund of the Yampa Valley Community Foundation, through the generosity of the Alterra Mountain Company Community Foundation (AMCCF). The SSRC Charitable fund provides grants and scholarships that benefit individuals and organizations throughout the Yampa Valley. AMCCF is a public charity created to provide support for members of the mountain communities in which Alterra Mountain Company operates. A select number of signs will also be provided through giveaways at upcoming SSRC employee events over the next year.

The auction will take place beginning at 9 a.m. on October 14 and run through October 23 at midnight. All signs and chairs awarded through the auction must be picked up in person on November 1 in the Meadows parking lot from 8 a.m. to noon. Chairs cannot be stored beyond this time frame, delivered, or shipped- no exceptions. Specific sign and chair dimensions will be listed on the auction item description to determine vehicle pick up requirements.

More information on the auction will be available through Givergy below.
