New Steamboat 8, Ultimate Upgrade and Insurance Option Provide Value, Convenience and Security

STEAMBOAT SPRINGS, CO-March 9, 2016-Steamboat unveils its 2016/17 season pass pricing tomorrow, bringing back for another season a broad variety of flexible pass programs, new pass opportunities and significant value for Steamboat-Ski Town, U.S.A.® guests. The 2016/17 season is expected to run from Scholarship Day, Wednesday, November 23, 2016 (season passes and frequency products valid starting Thanksgiving, Nov. 24) to Closing Day, Sunday, April 16, 2017.

“It’s never too early to start thinking about the next ski and snowboard season in Steamboat,” said Katie Brown, vice president of sales and marketing. “We’re bringing back popular programs such as the Kids/Grandkids Ski Free pass program, First Tracks and night passes while also providing new products such as the Steamboat 8 pass and an insurance option to deliver value and peace of mind on a season full of fun.”

Steamboat’s unrestricted adult season pass offers incredible value for the high-frequency skier and rider from start to finish. For over three decades, when a parent, grandparent or legal guardian purchases an unrestricted adult Steamboat season pass, one child (12 & under) receives a FREE child season pass and each additional child or teen in the same family enjoys additional savings.

The new Steamboat 8, which replaces the Steamboat 6, provides greater value, flexibility and benefits. Priced similar to last year’s 6-day pass, this new pass offers 8 unrestricted days at Steamboat, the ability to reload with additional days and an extended deadline on the initial price through June 1. The Steamboat 8 and 15 are both part of the MAX add-on program providing access to ski resorts coast to coast. In addition, Steamboat 8 and 15 pass holders may redeem unused days for summer gondola access.

Steamboat 8, 15 and season pass holders can take advantage of the Night Add-On for unlimited night access for only $59 if purchased by June 1. A special night only season pass is available for $199. The resort will again offer night operations five nights a week from Thursdays through Mondays, mid-December to late March.

The popular First Tracks direct-to-lift season pass will again be offered for the 2016/17 season for $399. Available in limited quantities and exclusively to season pass holders, the First Tracks pass provides admittance to board the gondola between 8 and 8:15am accessing terrain in the Sunshine and Priest Creek areas.

Be ready for the unexpected with Steamboat’s new insurance option available for season passes, frequency and select add-on products through RedSky travel insurance. The new program provides peace of mind for pass holders for a variety of reasons which can interrupt your upcoming winter season.

Season pass benefits allow pass holders to enjoy additional savings on dining, rentals, SnowSports School, guided gourmet snowshoe tours as well as Steamboat Grand dining and spa. Steamboat season passes can be upgraded to include unrestricted access to Winter Park Resort, along with other resorts, with the Ultimate Upgrade for $119. Want to go bigger? The M.A.X. add-on provides access for up to 24 resorts coast to coast for $299. Savings go even further as adult passholders are eligible to purchase eight specially priced lift tickets for friends and family. Friends & Family tickets are $65 for early/late season and $89 for regular season.

Steamboat allows guests the option to lock in these prices with $99 down and final payment due September 12. Prices on all pass products are guaranteed at the lowest rate of the season through June 1, 2016. All passes are available for purchase at or through Steamboat Central Reservations®, 877-276-2628.
